ABOUT "Corn Maze in the Plains VA"
Kate and Hub Knott are the owners of The Corn Maze in The Plains. In 2000, they ventured off on their own and began the corn maze and growing vegetable/flower seeds organically. The maze began with the simple idea of creating a place on the farm, where people could come and enjoy the beautiful countryside and experience the fall. It has grown into a place where families and friends have come for years, turning it into their “tradition”. Kate is the “Corn Queen” who puts a lot of the beautiful and colorful touches you see around the farm. She has a deep love for the outdoors, raising her family, gardening, and keeping healthy. Hub is “King Korn”, who does a lot of the hard work that needs to be done, keeps the crops growing, and makes repairs when they need repairing. He loves growing seeds, storage crops, and exploring the wild side of the woods. Violet is our little 3.5 year old “Kernal”, who simply likes to laugh and have fun. She tests the swings and slides to make sure they are at peak performance. Violet makes sure the animals are alive and well. She is always amazed that all these other kids come every maze weekend just to play with her. “Ah, the good life”. Besides the incredible fun of the maze itself, Corn Maze in the Plains has fun outdoor activities like hay rides, pumpkin tosses, animal petting zoos, obstacle courses, slides for the kids, and more. We offer birthday and private party packages, as well as school tours. Kate's Country Store is chock full of the yummiest goodies around, like pumpkin pie fudge, apple butter, apple jelly, local honey and beeswax, pickles, hot sauces, preserves, and that most tasty of all autumnal treats - pumpkin butter. Outside we have pumpkins, gourds, haybales - pretty much anything you'd want to naturally decorate your home to feel fall in your heart.
