  • Video on the fly feedback

Tried not to do a haunt this year but it looks like I am locked into one.. So on the fly I templated this out for my website (that I need to do today). Coming at a little different angle than normal Halloween scare...going for the suspense marketing. Not much info but this is for a site. Feedback please...and the rotting girl that strobes is my daughter so be nice! Turn up the sound....

I tried to build a subconscious story... hallway, door, spider, destroyed room then terror... do you think at the end with the eye logo, does it need sound like a light growl or is dead silence better?

Here is a super generic one I practiced on first..probably seen this template.

I wouldnt go for a startle, maybe breathing or static or the flip flip noise of an old projector after the film is done. I think the one in the first of the thread is way better than your practice one.
Maybe he sound of a door creaking open and closed so it matches what the eye is doing could be creepy, tying together the animate eye and the inanimate door. hmmm

            Hello~

Personally, I like the first one better than the second one.

For the major reason of the "flashes" that you see of the the different elements that could possibly or probably are in the the haunt.

As far as a choice or a growl or dead silence. Thats a hard choice. I WOULD NOT go with a scream , that a little too "nerve wracking" yes it's a "startle" but I think its a little too much. If anything If your stuck for something to put at the ending as far as sounds , you could do either a SUDDEN dead silence or leave it the way it is with a slight "fade out".

The other thing you COULD DO as far as the ending animation, would POSSIBLY, have the eye, "shoot out" of the circle in the 6 and have it cover the viewing area. and some phrase simialr to "we will see you but your won't see us" or SOMETHING to that effect.

Another thing I JUST thought of after looking atthe video, is that since the name of your haunt it "6 Fears" try to incorporate the "6 fears" that they may experience while going through your haunt. That will definately "sell" the experince more to your customers.

Other than that , as i mentioned i like the first video better than the second.

            Just my suggestions.

I liked the first one better as well. The music was more suspenseful and it highlighted the haunt name better than the second one did.

I did think that the first one the moving things on the black (static type lines) reminded me a lot of what a driving snow looks like. It kinda confused me a bit because it put me more in the mind of a wintery snow storm rather than Halloween. When you warmed up the screen flashes with the more earthy tone, it became much more eerie and more in the haunted realm than the blueish greyscale at the beginning. Maybe this was just me, LOL!

BTW your daughter looks very cool in her shot! Nicely done!!

Thanks for the feedback. I had 2 goals and limited time. This a $20.00 project so that was good. The marketing concept is to say haunt and where it is at.. Confusion at the beginning fast moving story if you subconsciously caught it, girl goes in room terror... then bang it stops. In the marketing world this makes the viewer say oh its time to pay attention now . Location is the focus as the eye slowly roles up .. then you are left feeling like something is missing you want to see whats next. . That was it..... So I think you are on the money!
