  • Thinking about opening a haunt or are you new to the industry?

Are you considering getting into this crazy haunted attraction business? It can be fun and fruitful, but wouldn’t you like to know what is expected of you when it comes to fire codes and life safety? Would you like to find out how a group of professionals in the industry opened a new attraction last year? The steps and processes they went through. Our experts could save you thousands of dollars by avoiding mistakes and penalties, along with last minute stress and lost time.

The Midwest Haunters Convention has recruited a team of professionals to present an all-day seminar on Getting Started in the Haunted Attraction industry. You really need to find out what you don’t know and how you can avoid problems and challenges before they occur. This one day class will cover the most critical issues facing haunters with building and start-up operations.

We’ve recruited two teams of professionals for this seminar; the morning session will be hosted by Bruce Larcomb, retired Chief Fire Marshal for the State of Ohio and current consultant for those needing building and safety code assistance and Geoffrey Eaton, current Bureau Chief - State of Ohio – Building Code enforcement division.

The afternoon session will focus on the business plan and operations. We’re excited to announce the team from the Forsaken Haunted House and the Factory of Terror will be sharing their experience opening their newest attraction in the Cleveland area. Please join John Eslich – Owner (Forsaken/Factory of Terror), Diana and Brian Warner (Owners/Operations/Technical Director) and Katie Johnston – Cast Manager/Head Make-up Artist.
