Denali National Park: Haunted or Just Hauntingly Beautiful?
Denali National Park is one of the most popular and picturesque destinations in the entire state of Alaska, attracting a wide array of nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts by the thousands every year. The park is home to the famous Mount McKinley, which is the tallest point in all of North America, towering at an impressive 20,320 feet.
The mountain is also commonly referred to as Denali, which means “High One.” In fact, the Athabascan natives (who have inhabited the area for centuries) believe the mountain is the home of Sa, the sun shaman who they regard as the master of all life, and is considered to be one of the most sacred spots on the entire North American continent. But is Denali National Park a stunning, awesome place simply believed to be sacred by some or is there something more sinister, mystifying, or supernatural happening there?
For years, ghostly sightings, strange happenings, and stories of the paranormal have persisted and many people, both natives and visitors to the park, have claimed to see such bizarre, paranormal activity. There have been several reports regarding strange, unnatural lights that have been seen throughout the national park. Others have reported feeling strange sensations and uneasiness, especially when visiting near or on Mount McKinley. Perhaps the most reported and most bizarre of all the paranormal activity allegedly occurring in Denali National Park is the loud shrieking that has been heard coming from the mountain.
If you ever have the chance to visit the beautiful state of Alaska – or are lucky enough to live there – be sure to visit Denali National Park. Aside from being able to take in the views of one of the most stunning places in the world, you may just experience something unusual, bizarre, or downright eerie!
