Supernatural Occurrences in Washington DC

When most people think about Washington DC they think about politicians, government and business. Most people probably don’t think of ghosts or haunted place. But Washington DC is jam packed with ghosts and cursed areas. We will elaborate below:

Many presidents boast their strong connection to the presidents of the past. One of the presidents that seems to visit modern-day presidents is Abe Lincoln. Many newer presidents have claimed that they feel Honest Abe’s presence in the Lincoln bedroom on the second floor. It is said that Lincolns ghost was channeled after his death by his wife. Mary Todd Lincoln tried to contact him frequently from the grave.

There have also been stories about Dolly Madison's ghost walking around the grounds and the gardens of the White House. It is said that she gets mad if the garden is every changed in any way. Believe it or not, but fearless politicians seem to be superstitious and often heed to the demands of lingering spirits.

The U.S. Capitol building is also said to be haunted. There are a handful of ghost stories that plague the historically significant building. One of the well-known ghost stories that have been handed down from generations involves an evil cat that lives in the basement of the building. Due to this story, the basement of the building is known as the crypt. If ever the cat is seen by someone, a large disaster will surely occur. U.S. Capitol employees are extremely careful when entering the basement to not disturb the evil cat.

Evidently the statues at the U.S. Capitol building come to life and dance the halls during the night time. Many people have been witnesses of these dancing statues and have been frightened by their ways. Perhaps it is true that history really can come alive.

People who visit Washington DC literally walk the steps of many famous, important men and women from the past. Washington DC is where some of the most important decisions regarding the country’s fate have been made. Surely in such an important place, there ought to be supernatural occurrences. And there are.
