The Lost Cemetery
Civil War buffs claim that there is a patch of vacant land in Lebanon, Virginia that holds hundreds of human remains. This abandoned cemetery, over 200 years old, includes unmarked graves of 27 confederate soldiers. Since the bodies were not cared for properly, it is said that this cemetery is haunted. Those who have visited the cemetery claim that there is a mysterious light. And if someone chooses to travel to the cemetery after dark, they will be hit quickly with a floating blaze. It is difficult to escape as the flame is said to follow and scream at the graveyard trespasser.
EVP’s have been recorded at the lost graveyard by ghost hunters numerous times over the years. These ghost hunters claim that the ghosts plead for help. This is the only phrase that has ever been recorded. People suspect that the ghosts who are begging for help are lost confederate soldiers who died and never had a proper burial. These confederate soldiers refuse to move to the other side, so they linger in the cemetery asking visitors for help.
This cemetery is often referred to as the lost cemetery because of the fact that no one has cared for the property in over 200 years. The plants and trees are so overgrown that it can be difficult to even see the grave plots.
It has been reported that orbs circle the cemetery each night and a few people have reported seeing a skeleton wandering the graveyard. The police have been notified multiple times about this matter, but refuse to disturb the graveyard in fears of being haunted. Many people have wanted to explore the graveyard during the day, mostly to find confederate soldiers who were never claimed. But as of yet, no one has had the courage or the permission to disturb the graveyard. No one will even cut the grass and plants in order to inspect the headstones. Do you dare to disturb the cemetery to uncover its secrets?
