Halloween is creeping up, and for all of our Michigan and out of state victims (guests), that means tons of screams, squeals, shrieks, and cries in the night. As you wander through our phobia infested nightmare, you will want to be wearing your running shoes because this year, the 13th anniversary of Phobia House, has Phobia House and the Scream Team designing an experience which encompasses some of the best of years past. We will strive to make this the scariest Halloween ever.
This year the phobias are back, the killers are back, and worst of all, your nightmares have been given a new home - Phobia House 2013!
(One of Michigan's premier haunted attractions!)
We challenge you to
FACE YOUR FEARS!
Rather than tell you how scary Phobia House is, I would like for my victims to do so. What follows are a few of the endorsements that our victims either E-mailed to us or told us. These endorsements are all in the words of our victims.
We enjoyed your attraction. We just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed it. We especially like how some of the characters were up above scaring and some also followed us out to our cars. We will surely be back next year to see what you've come up with if we are in town.
We LOVED the Phobia House in Kalamazoo. Went last night!! Great job.. great staff.. great fun.. you guys do a kick-ass job. Don't EVER tone it down or make it PC.. I am 45 years old, and you scared the living $#!+ out of me.. and I loved it. Especially the fake endings.
A couple of friends of mine, myself, my fiancé, and son went to the Phobia House. We had a group that prided themselves in NOT being scared, and proceeded to laugh through a good portion of the tour. We had escaped a majority of the tour unscathed. That was until we got to the end with the CLOWNS. Now most of the people in our group thought nothing of the clowns really, except for my son (He is 13.) He was completely mortified!!! Besides the running around our group, between the clown and my son, he took off like a bat out of hell! The clown took off chasing my son down an alley outside into a dead end. Again... He was mortified! I laughed so hard my sides hurt! He now claims to have a phobia of clowns. And just a little side note - his grandmother is a professional clown. Go figure?! Keep up the good work! We'll return again.
Now I know why its not suitable for 14 and under!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey my name is Amber from Kalamazoo and I just wanted to say your phobia house scared me worse than I have ever been scared before in my life but believe me that is a good thing so thank you!
OMG. I just wanted to say.. I went last night and it was the scariest haunted house ever. I was literally chased out by the clowns. At first, one had me trapped against the wall scaring me to death. Then, he chased me out and then three of them had me cornered against the outside wall leading to the cars, and my friend must have said my name or something, because they were yelling "HEATHERRRRRRRRRRRRR, AHHHHHHH"
Wow! Yeah, that was scarey.
I have traveled all over Michigan and every year I come back. I live in Mattawan and have spent several hundreds of dollars on gas and entry fees, you are always the best. My friends and family from Detroit area all come to Kalamazoo to your house. I personally do a home haunt for the kids in the neighborhood and am always looking for great inspiration. One of the best things your house does is not over crowding the haunt. Thank you for the experience. I will continue to be a regular.
Thanks for the great time. I took three 7th graders, my mother, and my boyfriend on Friday. By the time we were out, the three girls were actually bawling and had pissed their pants. They cried all the way home. I loved how you had monsters jumping out at you throughout the tour. That is what haunted houses are all about. I guess it helped having three young scared girls with us. Just wanted to let you know that I have been to most of the haunted houses in the Kalamazoo area and this is by far the best. We even traveled to (another Michigan haunted attraction) and was disappointed in their get up. We also had one of the clowns hide in the van so one of the girls would get scared. IT WORKED! I will tell everyone how good your haunted house is.
OMG!!!! I went to the Phobia House tonight and it was my first haunted house ever and I loved it so much. I screamed more than I ever have in my entire life and I usually don’t get scared at all and I was terrified!!!!!!! I came out of there saying I wanted to go a million more times just to get scared! Phobia house was definitely a great choice for my first haunted house!!!
The Phobia House was so freaky! My friend was so afraid of the clowns, my other friend and her two old brothers would not let her in the car. We locked the door on her. It was so funny! Next weekend my friend and I (the one we locked out of the car) are going to take our best friend there and trust me she will be afraid.
Thank you for making a scary haunted house. It was Awesome! A few of my buddies, our girlfriends and I came to Phobia House the other night. We have gone to a lot of other haunted houses including the terror one (we were looking for you and found them by mistake) and none of them even come close to scaring any of us!
Glad we found you. We will be back!!!!
Normally I don't get scared. Well, you got me, several times. Usually I can tell when something is about to happen, the man who was our tour guide was fantastic; he never let on to when something was going to happen.
We all loved that maze of plastic and how did you get the head to float or that monster to fly? In fact my buddy pissed his pants with that one flying down on us! And as if that was not good enough his girlfriend not only pissed her pants but $#!+ them as well! And the clowns got my other buddy to cry he was so terrified. I guess we found out what his phobia was.
We are telling every one, if they want to be scared, go to Phobia House! We had a long wait but it was worth every minute. We plan to come again.
Thanks for a great scare.
My name is Marissa and my two cousins and I went to the Phobia House. I am writing to you because the three clowns told me to tell you about my experience at the Phobia House because they said my cousin was probably the best scare they had ever had. They scared her for about a half hour to 45 minutes.
My cousin Renee is terrified of clowns and when we got to the clown room she started screaming and ran towards her car. When she got halfway there she stopped and was waiting for me and I yelled to the clowns to get her. They started to run to her and beat her to her car and one of the clowns was chasing her around it while I stood there and laughed at her. One of the clowns called me over and asked for her name so I told him and he started to call her name which freaked her out even more. then all three clowns started to come closer and surrounded her and she said she needed to lay down so she laid down and they all got around her on the ground saying her name and I took her keys so that I could unlock the back door to her car for one of the clowns. Once he was in she got up and tried to get in and she saw him in the back seat and she started to run back to the building. Then all three clowns came back to talk to us and they said "You're not gonna believe this, she is under the security table hugging the guys leg and crying." Then one of them hid behind the sign and I finally got her to come out and one was also in the back seat of the car. She ran to the car and got in and I got in on the other side while my other cousin was standing outside. While she was trying to get the key out to start the car the clown sat up and got really close to her and said her name and she started to scream and she threw the keys in my face and started running down the street screaming with one of the clowns right behind her. Then she ran back up to the building again and told me to bring the car around. But since I don’t know how to drive a stick it didn't really work very well. So I went and got her and she finally started to come back but the clowns all started to chase her again so she went back and got one of the ladies that worked there and she walked Renee out to her car. One of the clowns, Tomass, started to come towards her but the lady told him to leave her alone. So she got in the car and started to drive away really fast and said if they jumped in the road she was gonna hit them. But I thought it was the greatest thing in the world and all three of the clowns were very nice, and I tried to tell her that but she didn't want to listen. She cried the whole way home and I don’t think any of us will ever forget it. That was an experience that will bring me back to the Phobia House for years to come. Thank you very much to the Three Clowns, it was one of the highlights of my life.
PS: Marissa said; “If they jumped in the road she was gonna hit them.” On more than one occasion, our victims (Guests) has tried to run over our actors with their car. Our chasers have to be aware of their surrounding (speeding cars).
We had such a good time at the Phobia House this year, I can't wait until next year. The Clowns Were Great (One Of My Sisters Greatest Fears ), very scary! Please have them next year, along with many of the other "Scary Creatures"!!! We have gone to many haunted houses over the years, and yours seem to always be the very best. I will be sure to tell everyone!
Hello my name is Ryan from Schoolcraft. I attended the Phobia House. Like always, at the end of the Phobia House you have the clowns chase you out. I think that if you are crying and screaming that you need to tell the clowns to lay off your back. For me, who is deadly afraid of clowns, was screaming and crying when the clowns were in our car and all they did was get closer to my face. Over all the Phobia House was great, you just need to have them lay off you in the end.
PS: Ryan, that will never happen. Just be glad that they did not follow you home.
I went with a few of my friends the other day and it was so much fun, especially the clowns. They followed us out to our cars and scared the $#!+ out of my friend Brandon who's 6'0 180 lbs and he was screamin like a bitch lol. My friend Spencer and I were laughing so hard at him that we cried. Thanks for the great experience and the laugh.
Tonight I went with my best friend and my his family. I had the best time - I was not scared - I had a lot of fun - but not scared. Thank you for giving me a wonderful experience!
You will definitely see me next year. Are you one of the clowns or do you work in the front? The clowns were great this year again. I liked the room last year that had the strobes - then the lights went out and they were right in from of you. This year you had a room kinda like that. It was where they were cutting off finger and turning that guys head. I liked the dark area where they were in the ceiling and stuff too. Well enough of my blab - take care and I will see you next year...Thanks again.
Hello, My name is Jason, from Pennsylvania. I'm a police officer in Pennsylvania. We decided to make a special trip from Pennsylvania to come up and see the Phobia House. My friend said it was awesome and I checked your web-site and seen your videos, etc. So, Last night, Myself, my girlfriend, sister, niece and her friend made the journey up to the Phobia House. We wanted to be the last group through, but unfortunately with our 9 year old son, we weren't able to do. We had to go a little earlier than planned. So, on our way out to the Phobia House, it was great!!! My sister, niece and her friend were saying how their stomachs were turning and that they didn't know if they could do it or not. So, we pull in the driveway and my nieces friend won't get out of the car in the parking lot. Finally, she decided to. So, we go in and get out tickets, etc. My niece goes into the womens bathroom and I decided to hide in the men's restroom and wait for her to walk by. So, I did and scared the daylights out of her. She ended up sitting on the floor, cause she was scared. So, we then went through the haunted house. WOW!!! You guys have the best and I mean the best!!! Haunted house out there!! This was my first year going to the Phobia House and I have to say, I was impressed!!! The props are great and the amount of time that has been put into it, really shows. I am definitely going to post on my Facebook page how the event went and that I HIGHLY recommend this haunted house!!! You guys did an AWESOME job!! If there is a place I can post this for the public to read to help promote the Phobia House, please let me know, or if you want to dissect my email and post it on your web-site that is fine as well!! But THANK YOU!!! for the GREAT time last night!!! To see my sister, niece and her friend literally run down the road as they were that scared was PRICELESS!!! I would have payed double my admission to see this again!! Great house and I definitely am going to make the journey to the house again NEXT year!! Highly recommend this house!! Once again, Thank you for the GREAT time last night, it was priceless and we will talk about it for days to come. I can't wait to post how last night went on my Facebook page.
Thank You and Keep up the SCARY and GREAT work!!!
I just got home from Phobia House. This was my first ever visit to a haunted house as we don't have them in the UK. I really enjoyed my visit. All your staff do a great job, and you can tell that they really enjoy what they do. The atmosphere is great and the scares come thick and fast - even my 30 year old wife was screaming! I especially enjoyed the end, where for a moment or two you're not quite sure if its over.
Congratulations on a job well done!
Thank you for a great evening, and have a happy (and profitable!) Halloween.
Quote of the year for 2012 (From a man!)
I cried and I peed!
Quote of the year for 2011
It felt like I was sucked into a game of "Zombie Apocalypse"!
Quote of the year for 2010 (Opening night)
Give me one of those. I am confident of my manhood; however, we are going to the bar after Phobia House and I want to be safe.
The above quote came from a man who was at out concession stand and noticed that we were offering "Depends" for sale. He actually bought one and put it on. I did not have the opportunity to ask him if he used it. He was too busy running to ask.
All of the above quotes are true and came from out victims (guests).
