[the ogre]

suggestions for a clown: i have my jacket i know im wearing that(i could lose it if necessary). i just cant put togethger what to wear under it. i wore just a purple t-shirt last year but i wanna do somthing awesom this season. i was thinking shirt, vest and tie or t shirt and suspenders. ughhh i dunno. im in the que line as well as on the hayride trail so i want a sweet costume ill attach a pic for reference

My costume was rather simplistic last year, however, it worked GREAT for the haunt. I too was a clown and wore black dickies, our haunt T-shirt, red suspenders, heavy boots, crazy hair and I had my bat with nails. I didn't wear the suspenders over my shoulders, rather, let them hang down. My costume was last minute but it was a hit.

I have seen a great clown wearing used portions of a TUX outfit. He had on a white "Ramba" Shirt and purple velvet jacket with tails. He tore them up and covered it in food stains, sweat and other aged defining items and it looked great. I like your jacket alot but maybe add something more frilly underneath it and dirty it up. Would be funny to see it unbuttoned down a little towards your navel and wear alot of chains around your neck. Dirty up your chest, add some blood, sweat, food stains. Maybe have a button or 2 missing, maybe tight around the chest. If you don't have chest hair, get some from a costume store and add it also. So when your in que line, you could flirt with the pretty people. Have your makeup smeared on your lips and not so neat. Make it look like you wear it all the time and never take it off. Kind of like how Heath Ledger did his makeup on Dark Knight. He looked dirty and greasy. You knew he never took a shower and slept with that stuff on.

The guy I knew who did this, made himself look like a sleazy, dirty used car salesman, who thought he still had it. What he "had" was the unknown and that was what was scary. You can add more to this or lessen it, it depends on you of course, I just think for me it worked well.

I have a few ideas to shoot at you.
Under the jacket you could have
a rugby jersey, and add a bit of a hooligan persona
I am partial to obnoxious stripes on clowns.
vertical is more unsettling to the mind than horizontal
An obnoxious Hawaiian shirt
Bare skin , with a prosthetic on your chest and throat so it looks like you cut off your skin so it looks like your wearing a red tie
a bra
70s frilled tux shirt
lobster bib
clock work orange esque thermals and suspenders

so i took alittle bit from everyone. i found a white colar dress shirt with virtical strips but the strips are actualy litte blue and red hexigon like polkadots. i aged and stained it up abit. (came out nice). then i bout a diagnal striped red and black bowtie and red and black suspenders. when i put this all together under the bright jacket it looks really good. The pants i have are Black and white checkered chef pants with orang polkadots painted on. gives it a very grungy dirty look. it all pulls together. im happy with it for the time being lol

A nasty torn up wife beater under the jacket, striped pants. Bright suspenders.
Its simple, and gives off a greasy, clown vibe.
And do to your size it would look pretty good.
