Oblivion Haunted House Opening Weekend

Oblivion opened to the public this past weekend with a HUGE BANG! We had great attendance on friday, even with the cold and drizzle! Numbers Saturday were slow in the beginning but then jumped to top our friday numbers!

The reveiws and comments have been outstanding. I highly reccomend placing a gift shop at the end of your haunt. Not only do you get to see more of the excitement and reactions, but it lets their guard down for one last scare when they walk outside!

We sold a ton of stuff back there, as well! Concessions however are not doing so hot. Hopefully that picks up for us.

A few minor glitches, blew an amp, some lighting issues and ofcourse - actors pooping out on us.

Friday night we had 72 actors and Saturday we had 66. These were all volunteer actors and they did a FANTASTIC job! Cannot wait for this weekend.

Seen Oblivian Friday night

Made the trip to your area last weekend. So I got to see two haunts on their opening nights. Oblivian ROCKED!! and thats an understatement. I really loved the detailed work you did throughout the haunt. The actors did a great job!! and all of them were vollunteers! You got a HELL of a cast. NICE job to you and you staff!

So I guess the general consensus for haunts is Gift Shops do better that Concession stands? I guess it depends on the type of event you run. If it's just one haunt where guests stand in single file to enter your attraction, I assume the option to buy food/drinks is pretty limited to before or after the event. I've been to a few events that have the "Scream Park" type set up where guests can spend a few hours simply roaming from haunt to haunt and enjoy entertainment while they're there. Maybe concessions do better at multi-element events? We attempted concessions last year and they didn't do so well. This year we've allowed the Animal Protection League to set up concessions and keep 100% of what they make and this past weekend was our opening weekend but from what I observed, they sold little to none. Heck, the only sales I saw were from our volunteers!! Best of luck to you guys though! I wish we had the time to visit

promote that haunt !!!!!! girls like big sizes. they use them to lounge around and for bedtime. big guys will buy a couple if you have them in big sizes. (I know I do) at least 2 for me....because they are usually hard to get.
