Greetings fellow haunters,
Where did the time go? How is it possible that a year has passed already? It's true and in one short month from now the second annual West Coast Haunters Convention will open and what a show we have in store for everyone.
•32 exhibitors - last year we had 12.
•40 plus classes - last year we had 20 some odd classes with a lot of repeats.
•Several make and take classes this year.
•Two classes taught by the Wolfe Brothers.
•The god father of haunts Leonard Pickel will be on hand to teach at least two classes this year.
•The amazing Allen Hopps is teaching a master costume class and if you haven't thought about sign up someone from your haunt yet, you need to. He knows he stuff!
•The one and only Tom Devlin from the hit TV show Face Off will be at the show this year with his company 1313 Fright Zone.
•Drew Pierce makeup artist on such shows as Dexter and Kalifornacation will be at the WCHC teaching a class and he too will have a booth at the tradeshow!
•Show sponsor Fright Times magazine is once again sending us enough copies of their magazine for everyone to take home. If you don't subscribe I would encourage you to look into doing so. This is one of the best haut publications out there.
•Graftobian Makeup is cosponsoring door prizes once again this year!
•There is so much going on you need to check it all out on our web page.
Now let's talk events this year!
The Nightmare Factory will be open on Friday the 13th from 7:30 for both a fully operational haunt and then after everyone has gone through, we'll turn on the lights and let you see it all up close. See all the amazing work Extreme Makeover home Edition and the hundreds of volunteers did for our haunt. The crew from Davis graveyard will be here, you can see their handy work in the haunt for sure. All this for $5.00. Come see the haunt the that Extreme Makeover Home Edititon built for the School for the Deaf.
Also open on the 13th is Scream at the Beach in Portland! Henry and his crew will open up there multi element haunt for you all to see. There will be demos and opportunities for you to ask him questions. He will also be at the WCHC doing classes on mural painting.
Saturday night Hauntednight.com is sponsoring an over 21 event at AJ's Hideaway in Keizer, not too far from the Keizer Ren hotel. Information can be found for this event at their web site. Cover for the party is $10.00 and they have reserved AJ's just for you, it is a private party. There will be a costume contest and door prizes!
If you're not over 21 don't fret. Hysteria City is opening up and has rented a bus to get you to and from the event. For $20.00 you can hop on the bus go for a ride to Springfield, talk shop on the way down and once you get there you can tour the haunts of Hysteria City; Should be a great time for all.
Sunday Worst Nightmare Productions is hosting a Scare Contest at the WCHC, you can contact Cliff for all the details, there's room for a few more teams and like last year’s makeup contest, this should be a good time for all.
Oh, I almost forgot! We are thrilled to announce that we will be seeing the world premiere of a hanutumentary by worst nightmare productions, "The Haunting Truth". Cliff and his crew will be at the convention filming and on Saturday night will show us clips from the documentary. This is the first time anyone has told the story of haunted houses in full. He and his crew are hard at work on this film and I for one can’t wait to see what he is up to.
Overwhelmed yet?
This year’s WCHC is going to be a weekend to remember and we hope you can make it. Tell your friends, anyone that haunts anyone in theater or people that might be interested in getting involved in the haunting world.
If you plan to attend this year, please take a moment to let me know so we can make sure we have everything ready to make your WCHC experience the best we can.
