I chased the info down on it one time but have forgotten most of the exact equipment info. Not for sure about the equipment in that video, but it looks identical to one that uses commercial humidifiers. Think REALLY big humidifiers for nurseries and green houses. The rest is just LED lighting. I was watching a large commerial steam/humidifier unit on ebay for a while- they wanted around $400 for $2500 unit. Great price, but since it was used I let it pass and dropped the whole thing for the time being.
You have to wonder about how much space you really should have in order to avoid a moisture issue when running a big humidifier like that...How can a man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers and the temple of his gods.
What you put into your mind- you put into your life.

I wonder if you could replicate this with a slightly watered down, fast dissipating fog fluid, a fan and some black tubing. Of course you'd also need lighting because it just looks like a vapor being pushed through either a slit or honeycomb with orange lighting projected at an angle. Yeah I am cheap, but hey if you can make this work, I'm sure it would cost less then buying a theatrical unit.

Let me chime in for a second... first off that Technifex company is outrageous expensive everything they do is tens of thousands. I'd love to find out how much they cost because its very cool. Now hear comes the soap box... at this years show we saw more of the exact same thing over and over again. Another zombie, another fog machine, another animation just different skin, this kind of stuff here is what we need at the show.
We need new blood, we need new direction, we simply need new and different types of FX offered to us. I'm NOT saying we still don't need zombies or animations however we need everything to notch up... if someone came to the show with something like this I can only imagine how many haunts would want this. Who wouldn't right... I'm happy to see all new mask companies. That is what the industry needed... now we need more companies willing to make costumes and we'll be right on target.
We also need to push the envelope on FX that you can install in your haunted house to bring more HOLLYWOOD to the haunt industry.
If we are going to push our haunts to new FRIGHTS we need new products from companies that are willing to THINK OUTSIDE the box.
If we ever buy another off the shelf animation it better be super cool thats all I can say... we are looking in other directions going forward and something like this is perfect!!! I would buy this in a New York Minute!!!!!!!!!!!

I would assume its not steam as hes putting his hand it in and not being burned. I would say its a high pressure water mister fogger and led lighting maybe even add a dmx controller if you wanted to add a flicker or pulse between red and yellow . It is very imressive indeedI'm only doing this to impress 2 people ... The fire marshal and the customer that's it !!!

This does look amazing. I think a fast dissipating fog would probably be the best way to make it realistic and practical. If it were steam or mist you would have major water or humidity problems after not too long.
I will somewhat agree with Larry too, would love to see some new innovation. Just on going through haunt tours recently...seen a lot of repeats of the same stuff, which yes they are things that work, but gets old when the 5th haunt in a row has a Claustrophia or Vortex. They have become new staple classics, and they are great, but would love to see something new and innovative. I think with CGI taking over more and more of the film industry it is making way for more hollywood artists to break into our industry. Perfect example is Robert Kurtzman and Creature Corps. Looking very forward to what the future holds.

Froggy's has a fluid called quik blast. I bought a case at MHC for our haunt, haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but could be the ticket.

Technifex is right down the street from us and I had the honor of getting a tour of their facilities. The owners of the company are former Disney Imagineers. Awesome work they do --- they build some pretty amazing fire and water special effects. Maybe they'd be interested in trying the haunt industry if they can price their products right.

Not Steam
Water vapors possibly or misters w/ lighting. I could see where a fast dissipating fog or water vapors w/ the lighting could give this affect.
Definitely the way to go. We are doing fire this year and I will play with some of these... Excellent find - too bad they don't have a "Haunter's Budget" unit!
