  • Food for kitchen and dining room scene - Ideas?

I have been asked to make some different foods for a kitchen / dining room scene - The food needs to looks old and rotten. I have seen a tutorial somewhere on this subject but now can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have any tips for this type of project?

I have sculpted things before, and also used expanding foam for things like this but they want a more real looking setting because the items will be close to the people viewing them.

    Thanks for any help!

I've used old strips of rubber painted to look like meat. In the dim light it looked surprisingly realistic and disgusting...

In the past, I have used cotton balls to look like mold. Take your piece that you are working on, apply glue or paint to the areas that you want to look like mold. Press on a pulled apart cotton ball and hold it on for a few minutes until it sticks onto your prop. Then I took grey paint and dry brushed it onto the cotton. The picture I uploaded is an example of what I did. I took a gravy can and made it look old, nasty and moldy
