  • Sculpting with foam

I recently went to michaels and they had thes
e big blocks of styrofoam. I thought about the endless posibilities for them and now I'm wondering what can I use to sculpt them? Thanks, Ethan out.

    Foam sculpting

You can make just about anything out of foam. I work with it a lot and I love it. My favorite tools are sawzalls, big razors, sand paper, and band saw. I have some Hotwire tools but I'm just not a huge fan of them. But that's just me. Different types of foam must be worked with differently. If you look around you can find foam for free. For big projects and large scenic stuff, I use old hot tub covers. Free. I made some 4-5' gears last year. I used blue foam. I don't buy it from big box stores. I go to a wholesaler and buy large amounts. Hope that helps. Start hitting up the Google and see what you can find.
