  • Another stupid question

    When building walls to look like plaster and lath....what are you all using for the lath boards...I have been to Home Depot and Lowes and they don't have anything in the appropriate demensions except trim boards and that would be way to expensive.....I thought perhaps I could just rip a 2x6 with my table saw

    For the "lathe" I rip a 3/8" thick 4'x8' piece of plywood into 2" wide strips. For the "plaster" I use 1/4" luan plywood.

      Homedepot and lowes both sell lathe.

        Garden trellis

        I once found a great deal on some sheets of garden trellis. I didn't have a use for them at the time but lathe was what I instantly though of when I saw all those little strips of wood.

          Dumpster dive or someone who is remodeling an older house and putting in sheetrock instead may give you theres. Thats what I did.
