What the hell are these?

These are typically used in Industrial Automation but can be adapted to the Darker Industries. It's similar to a pneumatic cylinder. But the cylinder is machined out of a block of aluminum so it's internally powered (no cylinder sticking out the back). This makes up the body of the cylinder. The tool plate is what actually moves. There are recirculating ball bearings between the tool plate and the body giving you moment load and payload capacity. You couldn't put a load directly on a basic air cylinder. You'd need to incorporate some form of bearings and support. In this package its alredy done for you. In addition, there are stops and shocks that attach right to it with convenient kits. Now you can fine tune the stroke or decelerate the load. They also have built in magnets and dovetail slots down the side. Slide a sensor (switch) into the dovetail slot and now you have feedback to your controller to tell it when its fully extended or retracted. Has mutliple mounting patterns so you can bolt it right up without fabricating mounts. The strokes are limited so your not going to use these to raise props or pop ups but they work great on dresser drawers or underneath books on a book shelf. You can control speed with a flow control and actuate very quickly so that drawers snap open or slow them way down so books seem to float in and out.
