    Hello All,

Anyone use Shock Skinz? Did people like them? Have you run into any issues with complaints from patrons/insurance issues?

    Thank you!

We have used them the last couple of years. We get mixed comments. MOst people are not even sure if they were supposed to get shocked or not. They do not have a huge shock to them. Pretty much like a static shock. But we like them and will continue to use them.

I've been through a couple haunts that use Shock Skinz and for the most part they are pretty effective if you are the one getting shocked. But sometimes the person behind you or ahead of you is the one that gets the impact. Most haunts use them in dark hallways or areas where little is happening so that when you get shocked it catches you off guard and you aren't distracted by other things. Many large dark mazes also utilize Shock Skinz to give their maze an added edge over its competition while trying to involve every sense including touch. So I think it's well worth it to incorporate it in your haunt rather they be ordered online or homemade.

We put them in at Darkness a couple years ago and I could never keep them working for any amount of time. The wire that is weaved through them is very thin and can get easily broken. When that happens, they won't work since there is no longer a complete circuit and good luck finding where the break is and trying to repair it. If they were more hearty I think they might be more useful.

They make a very similar product (if not the exact same thing) for pets called a Scat Mat.

I have these at home to keep our doberman off the couch.

They come in 3 sizes and have 3 settings. Can run off a battery or plug.

                  Large 48" x 20"
                  Medium 30" x 16"
and strip 46"x3" (strip is perfect for railing)

You can get these at Pet Smart and online ranging from $10 to $80.

You can even get extensions to double the size. Ive seen online on some haunt sites where they run $300 and thats just bullcrap. Why people feel they need to rip off haunters because they think they have a "new" product is total bullsh1t.
