I was just teasing about the clubs, but really Michigan isn't as bad as people think. You want cheap and affortable, go to the D or the metro area which IS really nice. We have what 3 casinos downtown? We have everything that was mentioned about St. Louis but the arch. I have been to both St. Louis and Detroit and no matter what anyone says, they are very similiar. And Howie is correct we have a ton of haunted houses. What did the Hauntcon attendies think of it when they where here? As far as the weather, yeah by the end of March it is fine.

Howie, have you been hearing some rumors about a lot of haunts leaving the area? I keep hearing stuff but don't know that any of it is true.

      Jared,

I hear those rumors every year. As far as I have heard all the big, well know haunts in the area are planning on opening once again. We always have a few close down each year. But another one usually opens in it's place. Unfortunately, everyone thinks they can open a haunt and make it a huge success right away. Most of them quickly realize that this is one of the hardest businesses to open and actually make any money from. In our market only the good survive. The rest get bad word of mouth and vanish into the night.

I used to live in Houston yes... for seven years. The weather is nice down there if you like a lot of flash floods! (LOL). I think it only snowed one time in seven years I lived there and it was so light it didn't matter.

Houston is a nice city. Chicago is a nice city! But when you do conventions in the winter time no one wants to walk into an ice storm, freezing windy weather not me.

As for strip clubs (LOL)... I personally don't go to them. I read however that men listed strip clubs as the #1 thing they seek out when they go to conventions or out of town trips. All of us men are just such the low life! LOL

I know, I was just harassing you about the clubs, lol. Look, honestly, you are right about weather. I am sure 9 out of 10 people would rather go somewhere warm in the winter unless they are skiing. Me, it doesn't bother me to go somewhere when the weather I live in is exactly like the weather I am traveling too. But if I could go warm vs cold, i would be out of my mind to pick cold.
