ABOUT "Nevada Governor's Mansion"
HISTORY OF MANIFESTATIONS:
There are two theories as to who and why two of the entities, a woman and a young girl, are haunting the governor's mansion.
One theory is that an antique grandfather clock which was given as a present to the governor at this time, was haunted by two spirits, of a woman and young girl.
Some former residents have decided to spend their after-life in this glorious home. Two of them are thought to be "First Lady" Una Dickerson and daughter, June Dickerson.
A third male entity, perhaps a former servant of the people, enjoyed his job so much during his term, that perhaps he isn't ready to leave the mansion just yet. Some think it is Governor Jones.
MANIFESTATIONS:
The Second Floor: For many years, staff and overnight guests have witnessed the entity of a woman wearing a long white dress, followed by an apparition of a young girl, wandering around the second floor and hallways. (The first family's private quarters and guest rooms have been located on the second floor since the very first governor and family moved into this residence.)
The foot falls of a male presence have been heard going up the staircase to the second floor.
On the first floor, if a person stands in front of the antique mantel or grandfather clock, an unexpected cold breeze or a paranormal cold spot can be felt.
Doors in the parlor have the tendency to open by themselves. A cold moving presence is sometimes felt passing by.
STILL HAUNTED?
Yes indeed, but the entities are willing to share the mansion with the current governor and staff.

Carson City's rich and intriguing history is explored and theatrically relived in the 19th annual Classic Ghost Walk. The Carson City Ghost Walk is a delightfully spooky and enjoyable way to experience Carson City's Victorian Era and diverse past. Meet lingering spirits of the past, with many haunted and paranormal stories to take in. Some of our spirits even lead the guided walking tours of the downtown district's historic homes.
There are two tour routes this year: the "Classic" 90-minute walk and with kids in mind, the "Mini" Ghost Walk (lasting 50 minutes.)
The Classic and Mini tours depart every quarter-hour on October 19, 2013, from behind the Firkin & Fox Pub on 3rd and Curry Streets. Costumes are welcome. Tours are rain or shine.

A 90-minute guided walking tour. The first tour departs 10:00am, with the last one departing at 2:30pm. Our classic route features a tour with Janet Jones through the St. Charles Hotel, four historic homes, and a tour through the Governor's Mansion.
Mini Tour || Get Tickets!
A 50-minute guided tour. The first of four departures leaves at 10:15am, the last leaving at 11:45am. There will be old fashioned trick-or-treating on the Mini Walk, a glimpse of the bride ghost, and at least two inside tours.

The Bliss Mansion - Built by Duane Bliss is a three story, 8,500 sq ft. mansion that was completed in 1879, built by millionaire Duane L. Bliss, to become his dream home. This 15 room Victorian was built in the Italianate style, and was the biggest and most elaborate home in Nevada at the time.
The Brewery Arts Center - Built in 1874 by the Carson Brewing Company, which produced Tahoe Beer. The building has been transformed into an arts center.
Ferris Mansion - Home of George Ferris, Jr., inventor of the Ferris Wheel for the Chicago World Columbian Exposition in 1893.
Rinckel Mansion - Built by the fortune of Mathias Rinckel, a forward-looking meat magnate who struck it rich supplying Gold Rushers and Lake Tahoe lumbermen.

- The Nevada State Governor's Mansion and its grounds can be found 7 blocks west of 395 Business road, known as N. Carson Street, on the corner of W. Robinson Street and North Mountain Street. From North Carson Street, simply go west on W. Robinson Street to North Mountain Street.
