The town of Lincoln is known for many haunting tales including several in major Lincoln colleges. . One being at The University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska in the Temple Building. In the early 1900's when the building was being constructed one of the workes was reported to have fallen from the rafters. The mystery worker was likked when he hit the stage. Several people reported hearing a large noise and then nothing. When it was investigated there was no body there. Now, today during performances there are reports as a well dressed figure as being seen on the stage.
The second haunted also in Lincoln, Nebrask is at the Weslyan College. The ghost of an old music professor has been reported as being seen in the old music building on the Weslyn College Campus. The music is oftern heard late at night. Many times the music is not only heard, but many people have also reported seeing the professor sitting at his old organ playing.
The town of Omaha is known for many haunting tales and a history of all it's own. One being Omaha's Mystery Manor, it has been given the title of Omaha's most haunted house. It is described as a large, brick building that dates back to the late 1800's and is very dark and very disturbing. The history of the house has been discribed as very sad and disturbing. The ghosts that still linger in the home are the victims of violent crimes committed 100's of years ago. It has been reported you can still hear their screams through the walls.
Omaha is also home to many great park with great history attached. Hummel Park, which is said to be one of the most haunted places in Omaha, Nebraska and rumored to be an ancient Native American burial ground. The park is over 200 acres and has a very eerie feel to it. It is filled with steep hills and winding, dirt roads. It is a fact that there have been many suicides here and that is where the name "Devil's Slide" comes from. Erosion has washed the area free from trees and resulted in steep cliffs and sharp drop-offs. One of the biggest mysteries attached with Hummel Park in omaha, Nebraska are the trees that bow over the road entering the park. It is believed that many black men and women were hanged from these trees in the early 1900’s by local racist lynch mobs and their souls still dangle from the trees. Hauntings of Nebraska
The Alliance Theater
Located in the town that shares its namesake, The Alliance Theater is believed to be haunted by a female ghost named Mary who suffered a tragic accident in the theater. Mary was considered to be one of the best actresses at the theater, performing with great skill and talent. One night when Mary walked out on stage, one of the light fixtures fell on her and Mary was killed by electric shock and the weight of the fixture. To this day, after the theater has closed at night, the ghost of Mary is said to wander the stage, eternally waiting for an audience applause that never comes.
Located in Bellevue, Jewel Park is known to have an extremely high number of strange occurrences and paranormal activity. For instance, there have been numerous accounts of bizarre sounds, footprints in the dirt even though no one else is around, a thick mist or fog on clear nights, and strange animal sounds. There are even some reports of individuals seeing what appear to be apparitions of people and random objects appearing and then disappearing by the time you turn back around.
Legend has it that years ago a family lived in Clatonia near the area of Boyscout Lake. One particularly harsh winter, the woman sent her children out to help her husband with the farm chores. When hours passed and they didn’t return, she went looking for them and ended up freezing to death. Her family had taken shelter in the barn and survived the storm. Legend has it the ghost of the woman can be seen walking around the lake still searching for her family. Allegedly, whenever she appears, you can also hear a bizarre, evil growling noise.
